NBA Rumors: Carmelo Anthony to the Nets Nearly Done? Anthony Agrees to Deal?

The New Jersey Nets are now on the verge of acquiring Carmelo Anthony, after the the all-star Denver Nuggets’ small forward agreed to terms with the deal. This news was first reported by the New York Post, then by Fox Sports.

The Nets would receive Anthony and Charlotte Bobcats’ point guard D.J. Augustin in a four-team trade that also involves the Utah Jazz. New Jersey, however, would have to give up first-round draft pick Derrick Favors, one future first-round draft pick, and point guard Devin Harris.

Anthony hasn’t yet agreed to a three-year $65 million deal to join the Nets, but many folks that are associated and are familiar with the deal say that the 26-year-old has confirmed it. But there are still a few things yet to remain and to be worked out and fixed.

The Nets looked to get such a deal done before the Nuggets start training camp and report to it tomorrow on Monday.

All of the four teams involved in this deal have agreed to this trade.
