Just when everyone thought they could breathe again, another potential big move surfaces.
Erick Dampier, the 35-year-old center out of Jackson, Mississippi, is the lastest name to possibly be heading down to South Beach to team up with LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh.
This move is much needed for the Heat, as they lack a big presence down low. Dampier would certainly boost the depth at center, which currently stands at Joel Anthony and Zydrunas Ilgauskas.
And if Dampier is successfully added by the Heat, it would mean more headaches for opposing teams each night. Most of the Heat's critics have centered their skepticism around the Heat's lack of an efficient starting center, and this move should certainly be enough to silence those who doubt.
However, in order for the Heat to acquire Dampier, it would have to happen off waivers. While many thought that this was course of action that the Bobcats were originally going to take, general manager Rob Higgins has recently stated otherwise.
Now the Bobcats will attempt to trade Dampier in order to get some compensation for losing the talented veteran.
