NBA Rumors: Forget the Lakers, Carmelo; You Belong with the New York Knicks

It’s hard to imagine there is any part of the year Andrew Bynum hates more than the weeks leading up to the trade deadline. He is the biggest trade bait in the NBA in the sense that he not only has a contract large enough to bring back a superstar, and possesses a massive amount of potential; there are also enough problems with him that the Lakers would conceivably trade him.

With him looming as Denver’s latest option it begs the question, with as average as Bynum has been lately, is it really best to change LA’s identity by moving a seven-footer for another gunner?

Bynum’s value for this team seemed to have been established earlier this year when his absence absolutely exhausted Gasol and Odom.

Haven’t we also been hearing all year long about how the Lakers have been suffering because Kobe shoots too much? Well, if you throw in Carmelo that’s another 20-less shots being taken by the supporting cast.
