It's the time of year in the NBA where contract-extension talks are the focus for the game's best young players. The Washington Wizards' Bradley Beal is definitely in that number. The 22-year-old will be a restricted free agent at the end of the season unless he and the Wizards can work out an extension before the November 2 deadline.
Per J. Michael of CSNMidAtlantic.com, that doesn't seem likely: "The clock also is ticking on coming to terms with Bradley Beal on an extension to his rookie deal. But just as in July, August and last month, the situation remains unchanged, CSNmidatlantic.com has been told by multiple persons with knowledge of the situation."
Per Michael, Beal wants a max deal, or at least something in the ballpark, and the Wizards' brass is still unsure. Apparently, the team was leaning towards offering Beal the big bucks, but his so-so 2014-15 season that saw him raise his scoring average just 1.4 points and manage a modest 2.7 free throws per game was a deterrent.
