Nolan Smith Stretchered off Court with Head Injury in Summer League Game

After taking a foul, Portland Trail Blazer Nolan Smith collapsed to the floor and later had to be stretchered off the court. He appeared to be conscious through it all. 

The scary injury came with just 42.9 seconds left in the contest, and the rest of the game was cancelled. 

The Oregonian's Joe Freeman tweeted out the following.

The Boston Globe's Gary Washburn captured the seriousness of the moment with this tweet. 

Smith was fouled, took two steps following drive and then collapsed to the floor. He remains on the floor and a stretcher is being prepared

The medical staff was quick to rush to his side as anxious moments passed. Teammate Wesley Matthews was also quick to his side, which led to this relief captured by the following tweet by The Oregonian's Jason Quick.
