Derrick Rose started the game 1-of-8, but finished 12-of-25 on the way to 29 points in a 104-98 win for the Chicago Bulls over the Oklahoma City Thunder.
The Thunder had no answer for Rose throughout the second half, as he got the paint at will and scored from all over the floor. He also had seven assists, outdueling Russell Westbrook in the pairs' first meeting since 2010.
Jimmy Butler, who scored 26, carried the Bulls offense before Rose took over. He finished the game 8-of-20 from the field. Pau Gasol pitched in with 11 points and 10 rebounds.
OKC was led by Kevin Durant, who scored 33 points, but struggled from the field. Thanks in large part to the defense of Butler, Durant went just 13-of-29.
Westbrook had 20 points and 10 assists, but also struggled to find his range, shooting 7-of-18 from the field.
These teams will meet again on Christmas Day in Oklahoma City.
