One thing the Magic have been missing for much of this season is outstanding play from the point guard position. Jameer Nelson hadn't really looked like himself until recently.
Nelson has improved to seven assists a game while consistently scoring in the double figures. Though he is not yet back to his peak performance that we saw in the first half of last season, Jameer is on his way.
The Magic have looked better since Nelson upped his play. Orlando has gone 11-4 since Jan. 28 with two of those losses come against Cleveland and Dallas.
With a 40-21 record for the season, Orlando sits six games back from the NBA best Cavs. The Magic will likely draw the number two seed when the playoffs come around, as long as they can ward off the pesky Atlanta Hawks.
On Monday night the Magic stormed into Houston to face the Rockets. Orlando led the game by as much as 27, eventually winning 110-92.
Dwight Howard led the charge with 30 points and 16 boards, ripping off yet another double-double. Jameer Nelson did his part as well, scoring 17 and dishing out 9 assists.
