The Orlando Magic experienced some troubles on last week's road trip out west. By losing two of their three games, the Magic also lose some ground in the NBA power rankings.
Things started off well on Tuesday in Los Angeles. The Magic cruised through a 97-86 win on Dwight Howard's birthday.
Howard dominated the Clippers, leading Orlando in points, steals, rebounds assists and blocks. Probably the most impressive was the block party in which Howard swatted seven shots.
Thursday night in Utah, the party for the Magic came to an end. After I gushed over Deron Williams last week, he proved what a dominant and complete point guard he really is. Williams put up 32 points and 15 assists in the 120-111 win for the Jazz .
Vince Carter led all shooters with 34 points, though that was not enough as Orlando snapped an eight game road winning streak.
The following night Phoenix took Orlando down in a heartbreaker. The Magic looked sloppy toward the end of the game and let opportunities pass them by.
Down by one, the Magic allowed Amar'e Stoudemire to grab an offensive rebound and uncontested dunk that led to a 106-103 Suns' lead with 6.9 left in the game.
