SS: You’re a 15-year vet that has seen it all, what will your role be on this team?
Kurt Thomas: It’ll be just like it’s been over the last 12 years. I’ll be solid defensively, rebound the ball, and knock down the open shot when the opportunity presents itself.
SS: What went into your decision to come to Chicago?
Kurt Thomas: When I saw the moves that Chicago made over the summer by signing Booz and the other free-agents, and also knowing that Derrick Rose and Joakim were here I felt that this was a great place for me.
SS: The team has a couple of young big guys in Joakim, Taj, and Omer. Are you and Booz planning to teach those young guys a few of your tricks?
Kurt Thomas: [Laughs] I’ve learned a few tricks over the years and I’m sure Booz has too. Whenever the young guys want to ask about one or two tricks I’m willing to share it with them.
