Carlisle and Mavericks Working on Contract Extension

Carlisle is entering the final season of his four-year contract, per Spotrac, but ESPN’s Marc Stein confirmed the Mavericks are “in advanced negotiations” on a new five-year deal.
Carlisle took over the Dallas Mavericks head coaching job before the 2008-09 season and doesn’t have a single losing campaign in seven seasons with team. He also made the playoffs in the daunting Western Conference every year but one and boasts a 338-220 record in Dallas (60.6 winning percentage), per Basketball-Reference.com.
He clearly plans on being part of the future of this organization as well, as evidenced by his quotes at the team luncheon, per Earl K. Sneed of Mavs.com:
