This Rudy Gay video from last night is one of the sweeter shots you may see in a while.
With the Memphis Grizzlies tied with the Miami Heat last night, Gay inbounded the ball and got it back after almost losing it. He went around the screen and dribbled towards the baseline, lofting a fadeaway over LeBron James as the clock expires—and it hit nothing but twine to give the Grizzlies a big win over the Heat, who lost yet again.
Now keep in mind that the Heat were without Dwyane Wade, who was nursing a wrist injury in that game but should be fine with some rest. However, it's a painful loss for Miami, who is better than Memphis even with just LeBron and should have won that game. Maybe Cleveland's supporting cast didn't get enough credit when James was in Cleveland?
It was a redemption story for Gay, who turned it over seconds earlier which lead to the game-tying layup by LeBron right before this play. Gay went from the goat to a hero in about five seconds. He nailed that shot right in LeBron's grill and then had some choice words after the shot went in.
