Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr would not mind if the NBA rids itself of the instant-replay system.
Kerr told KNBR in San Francisco on Friday that the league's instant-replay system takes too long and should be simplified (via Diamond Leung of Bay Area News Group):
Can we just get rid or replay altogether?
It’s taking forever, 20,000 people are bored, everyone’s sitting around, and it just seems so worthless anyway. It’s like, ‘Yeah, well we want to get everything right.’ Well, we don’t get everything right anyway. Like there’s so many calls that could go either way in every game. It’s such a hard game to referee. There’s calls back and forth all game that are completely questionable, so why do we stop the game and have these horrible, long delays? I think replay review is just a joke.
Why does it matter in the last two minutes, and it doesn’t matter in the first 46? If I were the czar of replay, what I would say is only review the last shot of the game, the last shot of every quarter. Did he get it off in time at the buzzer? And thos ...
