Pops Mensah-Bonsu was a Toronto Raptors' free agent who got lost in Bryan Colangelo's mad summer of ground breaking deals.
Pops was quoted on a number of occasions that he expected to be back in Toronto this season. But after the Raptors filled their final roster spot, it became apparent that this was not to be and Pops signed as a free agent with Houston.
Originally signing in Toronto on March 6, 2009, Pops became an instant crowd favorite for his reckless abandon on the floor. Grabbing rebounds and swatting back shots with an enthusiasm that had been lacking on the Raptors.
In 19 games with the Raptors last season, Pops played an average of 13.8 minutes, scored an average of 5.1 points and collected an average of 5.4 rebounds.
This season in Houston, he averaged just 1.3 points and 1.0 rebounds in 3.3 minutes.
