Ty Lawson Injury: Updates on Pacers Guard’s Foot and Return

Indiana Pacers point guard Ty Lawson suffered a foot sprain Monday night against the San Antonio Spurs, according to Pacers PR (via Candace Buckner of the Indianapolis Star).

Lawson Lasts 5 Minutes in Pacers Debut Monday, March 7 The Pacers signed Lawson after the Houston Rockets bought out his contract last week, ending a disappointing spell with the team. In 53 games for Houston, the 28-year-old averaged 5.8 points and 3.4 assists a game.

Monday was his first game with Indiana. His first assist came with a little under 25 seconds remaining in the first quarter, via the Pacers:



He finished the game with two assists and a rebound, missing his lone field-goal attempt.

Obviously, this isn't how Lawson or the Pacers envisioned his debut playing out. The injury is also concerning since it's the same leg on which he suffered a sprained ankle earlier in the year. The ankle problems go back to his time with the Denver Nuggets.
