The Boston Bruins announced another trade today. This one, though, will have a bit more impact than the past couple they have made.
The Bruins announced they traded forwards Byron Bitz and Craig Weller and a second-round pick in exchange for Florida Panthers defenseman Dennis Seidenberg and Matthew Bartkowski.
Bartkowski won't be making an impact for at least another couple of years, as he is currently playing at Ohio State. It's Seidenberg that the Bruins wanted from this trade.
He is a puck-moving defenseman and is a likely replacement for Derek Morris, who was traded earlier today to the Phoenix Coyotes for a fourth-round draft pick.
It will be interesting to see if the Bruins can sign Seidenberg in the offseason. He will be an unrestricted free agent at the end of the year. He is currently making $2.25 million.
Stay tuned for more info as the trade deadline approaches.
