Amid all of the talk of Sidney Crosby and Alex Ovechkin, another player was quietly drafted by the Aves.
Chris Stewart's career started in 2006, and although he posted stunning numbers in the minors, his success in the NHL took a little bit longer.
Last year, he played 53 games and only tallied 19 points.
The 2006, 18th overall, draft pick was struggling to meet the demands that the Aves were placing on him.
This year is going to be much different. So far, he has 11 goals and 14 assists for a total of 25 points. He is tied with Milan Hejduk for the third most points on the team.
When I say that the Aves have a deep team, this is what I mean. Stewart is a prime example of a young player that is stepping up and helping the Aves play well this season.
One of the biggest things that helped Stewart was the fact that he has been moved to the top lines. He's seeing a lot more ice time, and you can see that help his game.
