Before the game had even begun, out from the loud speakers of Canada Hockey Place blasted the words from the Black Eyed Peas song, "Tonight's gonna be a good, good night."
Little did we know how good it would really be.
But when Zach Parise scored with less than a minute left in regulation of the gold medal game, an entire Nation came to a stand-still in shock and disbelief. So close they could taste it, yet the celebration that was just seconds from beginning had be put on hold.
And just as quickly as the Nation was forced back into their seats, Sidney Crosby lifted them higher than ever before.
The shot heard 'round the world. Or at least North America.
And with that shot from Crosby, after receiving a nifty pass out of the corner by Jerome Iginla and slipping in through the legs of Ryan Miller, Canadians blew the roof off this proud country.
