For those who do not already know, the NHL will be re-opening the waiver wire today.

So what does this mean for the Rangers?

In the summer of 2008, the New York Rangers signed defenseman Wade Redden to a ludicrous six-year deal for $6.5 million.

Since that signing, Rangers fans have been longing for general manager Glen Sather to dump the contract and send Redden to the AHL.
