NHL 2010 Top Draft Prospects: Mark Pysyk

When the Edmonton Oil Kings decided to make Mark Pysyk their first ever Bantam Draft pick in 2007 (third overall), fans assumed the franchise knew what they were doing.

Well, they clearly did.

Pysyk, who is ranked as the seventh overall prospect by NHL Central Scouting, was exactly the dominating defenseman the Oil Kings were looking for. In his rookie season in the WHL, Pysyk put up 20 points in 61 games, but increased his per game production this year, scoring 24 points in just 48 games, while missing some time due to a concussion.
