NHL All-Star Game 2011: Mock Draft

With less than one week until the NHL All-Star Game, tensions and questions are growing.

Who will get the first pick? Who Will Staal choose? Who will Lidstrom choose? In general, what will Team Lidstrom and Team Staal look like?

We don't know yet, but we are getting closer to the answers.

First, a bit of background on our captains of the two teams, as voted by the players.

 

Eric Staal

He was only named captain of his own team in January 2010, after then Hurricanes captain Rod Brind'Amour stepped down, to eventually retire at the end of last year.

Though young, Staal already has his name on the Stanley Cup. He was chosen by his fellow players to captain one team in the ASG, as it is taking place in the Hurricanes' home city, Raleigh.

 

Nicklas Lidstrom 

The defenseman has always been captain-worthy since entering the league in the early 1990s. He wasn't named captain until 2006, shortly after some guy named Steve Yzerman retired.
