NHL Expansion: The 10 Worst Places for the League To Expand or Relocate

Many teams have come and gone in the NHL.

Many have seen brief time in the NHL to just find themselves relocated later on and call another city in North America home.

Since the expansion era began at the beginning of 1967, the NHL has seen teams from California (Golden Seals, 1967-1976), Kansas City (Scouts, 1974-76), Cleveland (Barons, 1976-1978), Atlanta (Flames, 1972-1980), Colorado (Rockies, 1976-1982), Minnesota (North Stars, 1967-1993), Quebec (Nordiques, 1979-1995), Winnipeg (Jets, 1979-1996) and Hartford (Whalers, 1979-1997).

Though many of the aforementioned cities have since relocated and possibly have seen another NHL grace the cities again (Minnesota and Atlanta), some of the other cities just seem too weird to have another team.

The only cities that should get another team are Winnipeg and Quebec.

The NHL has recently stated that they would like to get a few more teams in Canada, but through relocation and not expansion.

The following is a list of 10 cities that shouldn't get an NHL team, whether it be because the cities aren't big enough, or it would just be weird to see a team from that city.
