NHL Picks December 3rd: Can Ryan Getzlaf and the Ducks Upset the Red Wings?

After going 5-3 last night, I am looking to continue my winning ways with another six games being played in the NHL tonight.

Two big games in the west tonight, as Vancouver heads to Chicago for a rematch of a 2010 playoff series, and the Ducks host Detroit, a team that they have struggled against this season.



New York Islanders (5-13-5)(170) at New York Rangers (15-11-1)(-210) (Total 5.5)—7 P.M EST, TV—MSG PLUS 2; MSG PLUS (HD)—The Rangers look to complete a home and home sweep of the Islanders tonight as they return to the Garden.

While the Rangers have found great success on the road (10-4), they have struggled in front of the home crowd at just 5-7-1.

The Islanders meanwhile, are 10-5 in their last 15 road contests against the Rangers.

Despite that trend, the Islanders are not playing well at all, and they tend to lose games in bunches. They are 1-9 in their last 10 games coming off of a loss.

I expect that trend to continue.
