Coming off of a thrilling 6-4 victory against LA last Thursday night, the St. Louis Blues were primed to go on a sustained point streak, as they had four home games in the week leading up until Christmas.

However, the San Jose Sharks came into town Saturday night and thoroughly wiped the ice with a bruised and battered Blues team.

The Blues look to bounce back against the team that has become a hated rival on par with the Red Wings and Blackhawks. That team, the Vancouver Canucks, come into the game on a three game win streak and have collected points in their last five games.

St. Louis will get back two key players from the injured list, as defensemen Roman Polak and Alex Pietrangelo return and shore up a decimated blue line corp.

While still missing key forwards in Oshie, Perron and McDonald, having a healthy defense will only help this team get back to where they were to start the season.

The Blues and Canucks met earlier this year with the Blues pulling out a 3-2 victory earlier this month. Alex Steen accumulated points on all three Blues goals, scoring two and assisting on Matt D'Agostini's goal in the second.
