The Leafs are somewhere they haven't been in quite sometime. Fighting for a playoff spot.
After a 5-4 win yesterday in Montreal, the Leafs moved four points within the eighth place Carolina Hurricanes for the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.
Brian Burke has stressed his need to find a top six forward, but after letting go Tomas Kaberle and Francois Beauchemin, Burke has stated his first priority is to find a defenceman.
Will Bryan McCabe be on his way back to Toronto? I doubt it.
But it is known that the Leafs have become buyers for the upcoming trade deadline, especially after their 8-2-1 record in their last 11 games since the All-Star Break.
A few defencemen available for the taking along with McCabe are Chris Phillips from Ottawa and Dennis Wideman from Florida to name a few.
