The Philadelphia Flyers (7-9-3) scored after five minutes for the early 1-0 lead in the first period on a power play against the New York Islanders (10-8-3) but the Islanders came back in the final minute of the first period to tie things up at one apiece and then went on to score two unanswered goals for the 3-1 win.
The Flyers have not scored an even-strength goal in four games and didn't look like doing so either throughout this game. The Islanders defended well and took advantage of the Flyers' ill-advised turnovers in the second period to control the momentum for the rest of the game.
The Flyers have now lost four of their last five games while the Islanders have won their 11th game of the season.
Thank you reading and staying tuned during the game!
