April 18 is a date which Phoenix Coyotes would like to forget.
Despite a 4-2 score in Game 3 in the first round of the NHL playoffs, the Coyotes lost the series against the Detroit Red Wings.
In the second period against the Red Wings, Coyotes captain Shane Doan tripped over Red Wings goalie Jimmy Howard. This would be the last time Doan would skate on the ice for the remainder of the series, as he would watch his teammates play in the biggest games of the careers.
Doan would watch his teammates force the Red Wings into Game 7, and all Doan could do was watch as the Red Wings annihilated the Coyotes glory road.
It’s been almost six months to the date where Doan went on, and you would have to believe that he hasn’t forgotten the series that could have been.
With opening night almost a day away, fans are preparing for the upcoming White-Out in the Phoenix desert.
However, in the eyes of Doan, he is ready to white-out the memories that cut the Coyotes season short. The Coyotes could not have scheduled a better team to host.
