Rangers-Thrashers Trade: Brashear, Rissmiller Are Gone, Todd White Is In

The New York Rangers acquired 13-year veteran center Todd White from the Atlanta Thrashers in a trade for Donald Brashear and Patrick Rissmiller.

Todd White is a 35-year-old center, and this will be his last year of his four-year contract, worth $2.6 million.

He is a two-way player that will help on the power play and penalty killing units. His numbers have ranged from 13 goals and 31 assists for 44 point to 22 goals and 51 assists for 73 point which he tallied two years ago.

The trade itself is a good one, when you look at who he was traded for. It did not help in terms of salary cap, but the Rangers gain a player that can play and add a veteran presence in the looker room and on the ice.

Todd White played in 65 games last year due to knee and shoulder injuries. He had shoulder surgery in April. If he makes the team, he will add depth up the middle which has been missing for some time now.
