During the upcoming playoffs, NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman will make his annual announcement of the league's salary-cap structure for the 2016-17 season.
It's unlikely we'll see much of a change from this season's cap ceiling of $71.4 million, as the weakening of the Canadian dollar during the first half of the 2015-16 season has affected revenues.
