It’s something that has never been suggested, let alone talked about in the last decade if you are a Calgary Flames fan.
Heck, it’s something that wasn’t talked about even three months ago. With the team now officially eliminated from the playoff picture thanks to the San Jose Sharks, however, I will come out and say what some might be thinking privately.

This team has consistently seen different players come and go in the last few years, as General Manager Darryl Sutter has gotten the fanbase convinced that the club isn’t far from being a contender.
The ownership group is willing to spend money, so that’s never been an issue. Key signings have taken place the last few years, with the latest being Jay Bouwmeester.
