Kennedy recently did a run-down on each team’s best picks from 2009 and that’s who he picked for the Rangers:
NY Rangers – Chris Kreider, C (19th overall): Speedy as hell, Kreider was great at the world juniors, as was fellow Blueshirts pick Ryan Bourque (80th).
Kreider seems like a strong prospect. Hockey’s Future currently has him ranked as the forth best prospect in the Rangers' system, and had this to say about him:
Kreider is a speedy forward, who for the most part has been playing on left wing for Boston College. A prototypical power forward, Kreider has shown his speed, and scoring ability in his freshman year with the Eagles. A clutch player who has become very responsible on both ends of the ice.
At 19-years-old, he’s probably still a couple of years away from competing at the NHL level, but he is certainly a prospect that we’ll keep an eye on.
