Toronto-Ottawa: Luke Schenn, Luca Caputi Strong as Maple Leafs Beat Senators

The Toronto Maple Leafs' Luke Schenn and Luca Caputi both brought their A-game, as the Leafs downed the Ottawa Senators, 4-1, on Wednesday night.

The Leafs earned a little redemption on Wednesday after the 5-0 demoralizing loss the Sens handed the Leafs in the preseason home opener. After going 0-for-8 on the power play Tuesday night, the Leafs showed fans a glimmer of the Leafs of old.

Tonight, an almost entirely different Leafs squad faced a largely unchanged Sens team with the only change being Brian Elliot making the start between the pipes for Ottawa.

The Leafs gave the fans something to cheer about early on in the game, scoring a power-play goal just under four minutes into the game, one of three goals with the man advantage for the night.

After bulking up to 230 lbs. in the offseason, it appeared that Schenn gained 15 pounds of confidence on Wednesday. Schenn played with poise and tenacity earning him top minutes on the night among Leafs defensemen.
