On Monday night the New Jersey Devils defeated the Washington Capitals, 5-0. The shutout loss marked the first time this season that the Caps had lost three in a row.
If the losses would have been close, low-scoring games, three straight losses would not be a major concern. But when two of those losses were 5-0 shutouts and the third was by the relatively high score of 5-4, well, it may be time for concern.
